PEOPLE IN THE NEWS

and now the defense takes it's turn in the DREW PETERSON case. they should wrap it up no later than friday and then the jury decides if circumstancial evidence is enough to convict. i still say NG goes on the board.

what is wrong with GOVERNOR PAT QUINN? the state is broke, social services are being shut down and teachers are being laid off because the state can't pay their bills and he kills the bill for new casinos. he says there are a few loopholes he doesn't like. SO FILL THE HOLES! YOU'RE THE DAMN GOVERNOR and you're allowed to write in anything you'd like! in the meantime, kids are going to school hungry because the breakfast programs have been suspended. duh.

do you know that the first american to be honored with a memorial in india was GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER? guess they like peanuts over there.

NEIL ARMSTRONG passed away over the weekend. walking on the moon was hypnotizing even to a derelict like me back in 1969. how long ago was that? gas was 35 cents a gallon and the average house cost $28,000. and the CUBS were in first place.  really.

chicago teachers union president KAREN LEWIS has delayed the strike in hopes of reaching a new contract BUT zero progress is being rported.  just what the city needs, a half million kids running the streets after labor day.

say a prayer for the people of NEW ORLEANS. it's been 7 years since KATRINA but they're looking down the barrel again.

teenage girl SAVANNAH DIETRICH in georgia is sexually assaulted by three boys while she's drunk and passed out.  boys then take photos and send them to their friends. they plead guilty in juvenile court and the victim goes public on the internet, rightfully calling them predators and revealing their names.  sounds fair to me but the authorities accused HER of contempt because the names of the boys are protected in juvenile court. she says "they tried to ruin my life. turnabout is fair play."  the charges were dropped when the story went national. one of the boys lost a scholarship because of the news.  so sad. you go girl.

the republican party has quietly asked SARAH PALIN to avoid interviews between now & november to avoid dragging up the past. palin was a national embarrassment in 2008 when put under the television spotlight.

i'm really aggravated. ROSIE O'DONNELL got married and i wasn't invited.

adios for now.
