the mark of a champion??? stumble thru game one for 50 minutes, get thoroughly outplayed yet still find a way to win and steal home ice advantage with two late goals.  the BLACKHAWKS might be in a position to win it in four.  i didn't think that was possible but if they win saturday night, start setting up the police barricades in grant park.

most wins in the month of may in chicago?  well, if you guessed the little boys on the north side, guess again.  THE WHITE SOX with 15 wins ruled the month of may.

ok, let's try again.  which team is closer to first place?  surely, it's the mega-machine of the north side that's going to rule the world, right?  wrong again.  sox are closer to first. (this is the SAME one you missed a couple of blogs ago)

are you excited about FRED HOIBERG?  this guy says he wants to "run the floor and push the ball and the tempo." he does realize he took the bulls job? run with this team? i can see it now. JO NOAH on one leg leading the fast break with TAJ GIBSON & 35 year old PAU GASOL...............i don't think so.  he has to retool the machine if he wants to run and that will take him at least two years with the contracts he has.  maybe NAZR MOHAMMED can handle the ball?

biggest disappointment in chicago baseball this season?  that piece of crap the WHITE SOX  got from the cubs via oakland, JEFF SAMARDZIJA, who is lifeless on the mound and pouts like he's DERRICK ROSE'S roommate.  3-2 over his last seven starts with a 5.68 era.   and this guy TURNED DOWN eighty-five million? lots of luck.

did the CUBS get JON LESTER too late?  his whip has never been higher nor has his hits allowed per nine innings ever been greater.  the cubs went 'all in' for a hundred and fifty-five million and i think they were hoping for more than a 4-4 record after eleven starts.  extrapolate the numbers for the rest of the season and he finishes 12-12 or about two million dollars per win.    mistake? we'll see.

the HOUSTON ASTROS finally removed their administrative head from their backside and announced the TAL'S HILL will be removed for next year. good riddance.  pay a centerfielder seven million a year and then watch him pop a hamstring when he hits the base of the hill at full speed. or tear up a knee. or cost your team a game because you're playing on a park district field.  and YES, all three of those things have happened.  MLB never should have approved that in the first place.
stupid to begin with and stupid now.

do you remember ALLAN IVERSON'S tirade about "practice. we're talking about practice" back in 2006 after he was suspended by the team for missing practice?  iverson now admits he was "drunk on my ass" when he went to that news conference and is now totally broke, squandering 155 million dollars he made during a 12 year career in the NBA. no education, no verbal skills, no job skills, an admitted alcoholic WITH a gambling addiction. gee, i wonder what section of the paper will carry his name next?  police blotter? obituaries? financials?  take your pick.

adios for now
