a potpourri of sports

well, if you liked the favorites in the playoffs, you made a killing this weekend as all of the underdogs were eliminated from the NFL playoffs.  i've said it before: if you get beat on wild card weekend, you didn't deserve to be there.  will anyone miss the vikings, redskins, bengals or the colts?? i don't think so!!

and now on to the big boys! PATRIOTS & BRONCOS are big favorites while the NINERS & FALCONS are slight favorites. WHOYAGOT????

does anybody want to play SEATTLE?  scary.

would you like to challenge RAY LEWIS in a bar fight? yikes.

explain the bulls to me.  lose to the worst team in the nba at home and then beat the defending world champs IN MIAMI.  discuss.

the bubble will burst tomorrow for all the sycophants of notre dame football when they run into the SEC in the title game.  you have to believe that BAMA, LSU & GEORGIA would all fare pretty well against the irish.

hockey finally got smart and signed a 10 year deal and it looks at first glance that the players actually held their own in the negotiations.  the down part is they now play 48 games in 100 days. bad hockey is on the way but the games will mean much more with a limited schedule.

NIU'S debacle in the orange bowl just highlights why the BCS blows. why does a team ranked 15th get the nod to a big game? ridiculous.

how cool is it that PHIL EMERY has complete authority and proved it by whacking LOVIE the day after a 10-6 season??? if it's true that he's rebuilding, then say good-bye to JAY CUTLER & BRIAN URLACHER. cutler is a loser and has been since high school. plus, he needs a punch in the face.

if KELLEN DAVIS needs a ride to the bus station, i'm available.  i've watched the bears for a long, long time and he's the WORST TIGHT END i've seen in chicago.  can't block and dropped 6 passes at crucial times. adios.

CONGRATS TO THE CATS!!! coach PAT FITZGERALD finally got the monkey off his back by winning a bowl game.

hall of fame voting THIS WEEK IN BASEBALL. i like LEE SMITH & TIM RAINES. smith was a stud closer with almost 500 saves and raines put up big numbers over twenty years in the bigs with over 800 stolen bases and a .294 batting average and a batting title.

later!
