I'm not sure how i feel about the destruction and removal of statues because they're part of history.  ROBERT E LEE was a great general and one of the top graduate at WEST POINT, who SERVED IN THE UNITED STATES MILITARY for 32 years before the civil war. He also served as the superintendent of west point and president of WASHINGTON & LEE UNIVERSITY. 

Who's this washington guy hanging with robert e lee?? Well, he's SLAVE OWNER GEORGE WASHINGTON, THE FIRST PRESIDENT!!! now we have double trouble! burn the university down right now!!! Do we re-name washington d.c? how about the state of washington? the washington nationals? how about washington university in St. Louis? 

how dare that slave owning bastard have another college named after him??

By the way, HALL OF FAMER TY COBB was an avowed racist and used the word 'nigger' on an everyday basis, including interviews with the press. throw him out of the HOF? I can name DOZENS of examples but enough is enough.

2) 'negroes' should not have the same rights as white people. 

3) negroes would be more comfortable living in colonies in Africa or central america.

4) supported the constitution's position that a negro was 3/5 of a person.

5) felt that a negro could vote only if he served in the military

I think most of you would dump his statue in the river but those positions belonged to our 16th president, ABRAHAM LINCOLN, the man who freed the slaves! so I think we should take some time to think about it rather than a knee jerk reaction because current police misconduct shouldn't alter or erase american history.

I want to make this point carefully but there's no way to avoid ruffling some feathers with this point of view: Slavery was a way of life in America from the early 1600's and they served white families in a variety of ways from domestic work to working in the fields and everything in between. Only a very few had any real skills and had to be taught even the most menial tasks and many slaves, when given the chance to go free, refused to leave the farm or plantation because they had no worldly skills such as reading, writing or counting. "street smarts" were unavailable because they had never been anywhere other than the plantation and they were safe with their owners.

In NO WAY do i condone slavery but history is how we learn and slavery is now dead because of it but don't try and change history, but rather embrace it and teach young people about how it was and how it got better.

 ALMOST EVERYONE had slaves because that was the way it was done and whether your name was GEORGE WASHINGTON, THOMAS JEFFERSON, ANDREW JACKSON or mr. jones the farmer, you had slaves. And while LINCOLN never owned slaves, he married into a family who had many slaves. Slavery is obviously wrong but it was a way of life at the time and if you supported it BACK THEN, does it make you a bad guy? I think not.

Chicago FOP president-elect JOHN CATANZARA wants the mayor to eliminate the long time residency requirements for police officers. Decades ago, It made perfect sense because transportation was an issue but there's no reason today's officers shouldn't have the option. A benefit of dropping the residency rule would be more suburban candidates taking the chicago police exam. I can't tell you how many area cops have told me they originally wanted chicago p.d. but family members were against living in that cesspool. can't blame them.

Cinematography is wasted on millennials.

I hate to do this to anyone but today, it's all about little donnie. i apologize. 

BLOG UPDATE: At least one racist and one trumpty-dumpty have told me to pound sand recently and have disappeared from this blog and you can tell i'm very upset about it.   More later in this column.

Well, the worst president in my lifetime rang the bell of stupidity AGAIN on saturday night in Tulsa. Speaking to an arena that was only 1/3 full ("a million people have requested tickets!") little donnie said he thought it would be a good idea to STOP TESTING FOR THE VIRUS despite the fact that 120,000 have died and the virus is exploding in 25 states.  idiot.  BUT IT GETS BETTER.............

The next day White House advisor PETER NAVARRO chided the press and told them the remark was 'tongue in check' and the president was just kidding.

The day after that, bubblehead press secretary KAYLEIGH McENANY (proving that anyone can get thru law school) said the remarks were "made in jest" and the press was making a 'mountain out of a mole hill.'  fair enough, the press stands corrected, right? Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, i don't think so because..................

.............The day after those remarks, trump threw both of them under the bus and stated loud & clear, "I don't kid. I think we should stop the virus testing right now."  

ka-thump, ka-thump. the sound of two people being run over.

To review my opening paragraph, racists are nothing but big blowhards until you call them a racist to their face and then they slink off into the night because they don't want their friends & family to hear the accusation and start asking questions. It's one thing to be a racist and live in states that still bow down to the confederate flag and quite another to live in the midwest or northeast states. 

When you call out a hard line southerner, they just say "so?" and go get another tattoo and a new can of spray paint. But when you confront a 'closet racist' living more towards the central states, they melt like a cheap candle and disappear quickly. Why? I think it's because many of them work for companies who would fire them if they knew the truth and/or live in neighborhoods where they would be ostracized for being a racist

Now trumpty-dumptys are another story because they cling to his coat tails no matter how stupid he sounds (drink some clorox, inject lysol, stop testing, etc) and their fervor for trump is charles manson-like in that no matter what he says or does, they follow in lock step behind him.

Recently, to apply some pressure to female trumpty-dumptys, i have asked them a simple question. 'my friend is running for office locally and he needs some help and i was wondering if you would vote for him?' (it always amazes me how many people say yes without asking any questions). 'But in all fairness, i have to tell you that he's a racist and has absolutely no respect for women. Will you still vote for him?' EVERY WOMAN SAID "NO, I CAN'T VOTE FOR SOMEONE LIKE THAT!" When i reveal my chicanery, their standard answer is (read closely) "Well, that's different if you're running for a national office because people make things up." When i read them the facts that are etched in stone verified, most answer "MAYBE i'll think about it."  maybe??

I think everyone would agree that most states are hurting financially because of the lockdowns but his majesty is going to shut down financial aid to 13 covid testing centers on july 1st. makes perfect sense with the virus on the rise.

Finally, the difference between the two parties has never been greater and is reflected with their choice of how to handle national conventions. joe biden has chosen to respect the deadly virus and will run most of the Milwaukee convention from a virtual standpoint while the narcissistic trump will throw caution to the wind and endanger 20,000 people in Jacksonville, Florida, a state suffering from a huge spike in corona.

A weird one this week in the San Francisco area: a young mountain lion was captured WITH A NET in an urban neighborhood without the use of a tranquilizer gun and everyone reacted like, "oh poor kitty, you'll be all right" and "you're so pretty" and "I'll bet she's starving after wandering the streets for two days" and other such mushy baby talk but the lion refused to eat and was released back into the wild. 

Turns out little kitty wasn't hungry after all because the san francisco zoo reported, AFTER THE LION WAS RELEASED BACK INTO THE MOUNTAINS, that two wallaroos and a red kangaroo were found half eaten earlier this week in their outdoor exhibit. The lion was last seen running away with a large smile on his face.

A SNEAK PEEK AT MY NEW BOOK

I, too, have decided to write a book but i can't decide on a title. Here are a few that i'm thinking about:

It's in rough form but enjoy the following passages as i strive to get it to my publisher, who tells me that no one will believe that one guy does all these ridiculous things in such a short time so i'll eventually have to cut some of the stories.

BAM!!!! That sound you heard loud and clear on thursday was little donnie being punched in the mouth for the second time in less than a week by the United States Supreme Court who, in a 5-4 decision, upheld the DACA act which allows almost 700,000 aliens to remain in the united states after being brought here illegally by their parents when they were children. 

When you couple this decision with the court's earlier 6-3 vote to uphold the equal rights act for the LBGTQ community, little donnie is now apoplectic and is demanding that "we need new justices right now!!" The ironic part is that a republican judge has ruled against trump in both matters and actually broke the tie yesterday.

My nominee for the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE? Chief Justice JOHN ROBERTS who, despite being a republican appointee, has had the temerity, discipline, knowledge and integrity to LISTEN to both sides of the arguments and weigh the facts before rendering his vote, contrasting the 'rubber stamps' of the 4 other republican judges.

I applaud you, john roberts but little donnie does not.

So how does little donnie react to the decision? Rather than focus on his crumbling presidency, he stomps his feet and holds his breath and then shouts "We're not done with this yet! We're going to file enhanced papers and get this in front of the court again." You would thing a guy who just got his ass kicked twice in a week would now just focus on his re-election but little donnie the madman hates to lose. (btw, little donnie says he didn't lose on thursday) go figure.

Then little donnie got real mad twice in one day as new information released this week shows that he continues to trail JOE BIDEN in most national polls by double digits and also trails in four states that he won last time (arizona, michigan, wisconsin & florida). Little donnie snorted again and said, ALL..... yes, he said "ALL of these polls are fixed to make me look bad. It's no different than people who are wearing masks.....they're just doing it to make me look bad because the pandemic is over."

WHAT?????????? 118,000 dead and 23 states spiking.  

THE PANDEMIC IS OVER??? WHAT AN IDIOT

Then little donnie reached for the chloroquine AND the clorox AND the pepto-bismol when excerpts from his former security advisor JOHN BOLTON'S new book were released to the media and among others claims, bolton states that little donnie is 'not fit to be president' and is 'totally incompetent' and urged Chinese President XI to 'continue building concentration camps for dissidents' and bolton also wrote that little donnie was not interested in reading the daily reports, which are a must 'to stay tuned in around the world.'

Bolton also says little donnie has no historical knowledge which was amplified when he congratulated FREDERICK DOUGLAS at a press conference by stating, "i understand he's doing some really fine work in his field."  Nice compliment but the problem was that douglas had died over a hundred years ago. 

Trump, of course, says bolton's book is 'all lies and on top of that, it's all classified information" so he has filed suit to stop the national release of the book, which is due out next tuesday, June 23.

LITTLE DONNIE now heads to tulsa, oklahoma, where covid cases have spiked 90% in just the last three days but no masks will be required as 19,000 people pack the auditorium to capacity. little donnie admits that some people will get sick and so just to make sure his ass is covered, everyone must sign a waiver that says, in part, "you might get sick attending this rally but if you do, you can't sue donald trump." seriously, why would you risk your health? But the boot licking sycophants will be there, hootin' and a'hollerin.

If you have the time tomorrow, please stop and pick up a 'get well' card for donald trump because he got his ass kicked TWICE on Monday by separate government groups.

A little background on ass kicking #1. the trump administration petitioned the UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT to rule that the 1964 civil rights act did not apply to LBGTQ people because the legislators at that time were only discussing blacks and other minorities. As everyone knows, donald trump is a confirmed and avowed racist and along with that, has a major distaste to members of the gay community.

However, led by trump appointee Neil Gorsuch, (you gotta love this part) the very conservative court voted 6-3 AGAINST the petition of the trump administration and indeed, included the LBGTQ community in the protection of the civil rights umbrella. Can you imagine trump's face when he heard that both gorsuch and CHIEF JUDGE JOHN ROBERTS voted against him??

And while still holding his crotch, trump got ass kicking #2 when he then received the news that the FEDERAL DRUG ADMINISTRATION had ruled that hydrochloraquine is "ineffective against covid-19" and they removed their previous ruling that hospitals could try the drug on an emergency basis per trump's request. trump responded with a smarmy response of "Well, i don't know. All i know is that i used it for two weeks and felt fine. (now read this closely) I don't know if it did any good but i'm still here." it should be noted that at no time has trump ever been diagnosed as having covid-19 and to this day, no one knows why he tried it for two weeks other than he's an idiot.

One more trump note: little donnie says he's not going to watch soccer or the NFL if they choose to kneel for the national anthem. Well, orange man, i have news for you. I don't think you're going to be watching too many sports at all because NASCAR is already kneeling, as will the NBA, MLB and the NHL according to their respective representatives. So grab a handful of comic books and head back down to the bunker.

Moving along, I truly do understand the protests and peaceful marches but when a guy is shot in the Wendy's parking lot, why do they burn down the restaurant? It makes no sense and people who are far away look at the television reports and mutter, "animals" and DON'T YOU DARE YELL RACISM when that happens. You cause that reaction.

22 states now have elevated virus numbers and the virus has finally re-attacked GEORGIA, which thought they had escaped the virus when they opened wide a few weeks ago and now their numbers have escalated. 700 new cases daily and 75+ deaths every day. 

Will Wisconsin, who also opened everything up a month ago, suffer the same fate?

Florida, where trump wants his convention, is reporting 2,000 new cases every day. 

And you have to love trump's upcoming rally in Tulsa, where you can attend but you have to sign a release that you won't hold trump responsible if you get the virus. HE KNOWS IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN and just wants to cover his ass.

AN INCREDIBLE TWO WEEKS

AN INCREDIBLE TWO WEEKS

wow.

A single word to describe the events of the last two weeks and it's not a good wow.

Never in my lifetime have i seen such an avalanche of emotion and terror and head shaking actions that actually made me shut the television off for five days only to find it had gotten worse over the long weekend and spread all over the world.

GEORGE FLOYD'S death was a tragedy and as i said in my last blog, officer DEREK CHAUVIN deserved to be charged and sent to prison because at any level, his actions were unacceptable when dealing with a man who was already restrained by handcuffs.

But today, i want to discuss officer THOMAS LANE, the officer seen in the video holding the ankle area of the victim, who apparently had started kicking when they tried to put him in the squad car. Thomas, 37, was in his FOURTH DAY on the job and his training officer was none other than derek chauvin. Lane had been a cadet for one year prior.

and now back in time.........

When I was a rookie on the force, I had a training officer who was a complete dick BUT he held my future in his hands because ONE bad report could send me down the road and every rookie knows that. ass kissing? check. go in for his coffee? check. arrest people that he says to arrest even though i disagree with the call? check again. I watched him make fun of complainants on a regular basis and out and out lie to them, making up rules and regulations as he went along to avoid doing followup work. I have a dozen more examples but i'll tell those to you in person so we can save time here. I knew he was a jerk and that i would surpass him in my career but i had to survive probation first.

and now back to today.................

At no time did Thomas Lane aid and abet a murder. He held the ANKLES of george floyd and on TWO OCCASIONS asked his training officer if they should turn him on his side and was given a negative response both times by his training officer with chauvin stating that floyd was 'staying right where he is.' game, set and match. shut your mouth and hold his ankles until your training officer tells you to do otherwise.

If you watch the video closely, there is certainly room for debate as to whether lane could even see or hear anything going on at the top of floyd's body and all he did was hold the lower portion of the legs to prevent kicking and i don't think that qualifies as aiding a murder. Did lane know how much pressure was being applied on floyd's neck? of course not. Had he ever seen this type of arrest before in his four day career? probably not.

Now i know people are going to tell me that i'm just protecting a cop but the phrase "reasonable doubt" is going to come into play in that court room. 

You have to prove the following element for aiding & abetting conviction:  "person is criminally liable for a crime committed by another if the person intentionally aids, advises, hires, counsels, or conspires with or otherwise procures the other to commit the crime."

At what point does thomas lane do any of that??? Is there anyone reading this that thinks holding floyd's lower torso is aiding in his death? if lane DIDN'T hold his legs, would george floyd still have died? the answer is obviously yes.

And now let's take it the rest of the way home. 2ND DEGREE MANSLAUGHTER sounds absolutely terrible and it is, IF you've done the element of the crime, as follows:  "if you knowingly take a risk that results in the death of another" simply doesn't apply by any stretch of the imagination. Exactly what risk did lane take?

He made TWO requests to his training officer to turn him on his side PLUS he called the ambulance PLUS he performed cpr on george floyd before the ambulance arrived on scene. If the jury enters that court room with an open mind, thomas lane goes home to his family rather than a long stretch in the state penitentiary.

FYI---Is there a possibility of a plea bargain for lane in exchange for his testimony and no jail time? absolutely. His law enforcement career is over no matter what so if he has a chance to avoid prison for telling the truth, why not?? a sure thing over a roll of the dice. His attorney EARL GRAY, is one of the best defense attorneys around so at least lane has that going for him. Gray loves the media and loves the camera.
