well, the dust has finally settled from november 6th and one thing is clearly evident in the political world. the republican party is so far removed from the middle class that they have zero chance of ever regaining national prominence unless they modify their hard line stances on several issues, including a women's right to choose and taxation of the rich.
the republicans have totally lost the black, hispanic and female voters and when you do that, you're toast. MR. ROMNEY'S now famous "47%" remarks about minorities pretty much sum up how republicans look at the worls. a select few should rule the country. sorry, but that ain't happening any more.
regarding increased taxation, to paraphrase what the president said recently, "if the rich have to pay a little more, they're still rich but the same doesn't apply to those in lower tax brackets." makes perfect sense to me.
this country has a lot of problems and the republicans are under tremendous pressure to work with the president after months of rhetoric indicating they were more than willing to work in a bi-partisan manner. there can't be any more stalemates in the republican controlled house if the old guard still want to respected on the natinal level.
what's done is done. you got your asses kicked in the election.....now man up and work WITH the president and get the country moving forward again. voting 'no' automatically just because a bill was introduced by a democratic is idiotic and only serves to hurt this country and from everything i hear, the majority of people are tired of the same old crap in the house. so if you want to keep the majority in the house in two years, start working WITH the democrats and get something done.
big time kudos to CHRIS CRISTIE, the republican governor of new jersey who said the hell with you and complimented the president for the response shown to his area after the flood. christie was taken to task by the republican party for his public response to the disaster, which is so typical. christie's reaction? "hey, i don't agree with the president on many issues but they got this one absolutely right and fair is fair. a big pat on the back to his entire emergency response staff."
and that, my friends, is how human beings are supposed to act.
moving along, JESSE JACKSON, JR. is waiting for the other federal shoe to fall in the form of an indictment and pre-set guilty plea. jackson was given some space while he received treatment for depression and anxiety but he recently terminated his treatment at the MAYO CLINIC. the investigation has been ongoing for a couple of years and jackson will end up losing his seat in the house and spending a little jail time in a federal prison. and now there's rumblings that his wife, SANDY, a chicago alderman, is also being investigated for misappropriation of campaign funds. a CHICAGO ALDERMAN breaking the law???????? be still my heart. it can't be true!
that's it for now. have a good holiday.

You are so right Dan. Thanks for keeping me updated on Chicago news also. I did not know Jackson's wife was stealing also. Sounds like Mexican government.
