IT'S COLLEGE GAG TIME

let's start with the wisconsin badgers and their idiot coach, brett bielema, who, in consecutive weeks, snatched defeat from the jaws of victory with the inability to set a defense after a time out. while everyone knows that the badgers are one of the three most over-rated teams in the nation, bielema is solely responsible for the late game collapses.

on a secondary note, badger fans whined until the cows came home when they dropped nine spots in the bcs standings following their defeat at michigan state but i believe that we have now heard the last of the complaints as they solidify their berth in the 'also ran' bowl in tampa on january 2nd for the fifth time in six years.

as i said last year when they lost to TCU in the rose bowl......."fat, slow & stupid players rarely win big games."

speaking of fat & slow, the second most over-rated team in college football, the fighting(?) irish lost all credibility when USC blew them out a week ago and both the players and coach brian kelly QUIT in the fourth quarter. evidence? kelly is down 14 points and doesn't use any time outs the last seven minutes of the game and lets usc run out the clock. kelly then splits the locker room in two by ramrodding the players he inherited and stroking his recruits. this should be good in the weeks to come. notre dame has been irrelevant in college football for twenty years and the beat will continue in south bend.

CLEMSON????? no. never ever trust the acc in anything but basketball.

KANSAS STATE???? no. got beaten like a rented mule and then some.

BOISE STATE??? the third most over-rated team in college football should get either alabama or LSU in the sugar bowl. the betting windows are now open.

kick everyone out of the man cave this coming saturday and enjoy the national semi-final game between LSU & alabama. should be a doozy!

what is wrong on the north side?

have the cubs lost their freaking minds in the THEO EPSTEIN negotiations? they have to come up with compensation (just like a trade) but have said no to the red sox requests for either MATTT GARZA or minor leaguers TREY MCNUTT or BRETT JACKSON. pick one, morons! mcnutt & jackson are nice prospects but one has to keep in mind that the cubs' farm system is rated the third worst in baseball and both guys are B+ prospects, far from being a lock to make it. (just ask corey patterson and tyler colvin).

i understand protecting your prospects within reason but how in the good name of ABNER DOUBLEDAY can you even hesitate to seal the deal with matt garza????????? almost 30, garza is two games under .500 for his career and other than pitching 200 innings a year, has no discernible value to the cubs. how about shipping garza and replace him with your valued prospect trey mcnutt? cub fans should be lining up to drive garza to the airport. only the cubs.

hey, ROBIN VENTURA! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

OZZIE GUILLEN lights up pitching coach DON COOPER in an interview and tells everyone the cooper is "KENNY WILLIAMS' bitch." i was afraid this was going to happen when ozzie headed south and i guarantee ozzie's rocky relationship with williams is next for the general public. it would be nice and show some class, ozzie, and shut your mouth. you have a new job so concentrate on that.

LSU continues to prove they're a quality football program with their ZERO TOLERANCE policy for the players. coach LES MILES rocked the college football world a week before their opener against oregon by suspending starting quarterback JORDAN JEFFERSON for being involved in a fight. that suspension lasted 4 games.

and now, miles has suspended two of his best players, starting running back SPENCER WARE and all american candidate TYRANN MATHIEU just before a huge game against defending national champion auburn. "we have standards for this football team but not double standards. i don't care if you're the 75th man on the roster or an all american. break the rules and pay the price." LSU fans should be proud.

blackhawks?? off and running to the stanley cup finals. book it.

some of my favorite women

as you know, most women amuse me on a regular basis but here are some of my favorites to date:

OMA NELSO was recently denied parole for the second time from her life sentence in california. nelson killed her husband in 1991 and then chopped him into little pieces. big deal, right? the kicker was that she then cooked his body parts into her thanksgiving dinner and served it to a dozen friends for the holiday. and they refused her parole? why?

in florida, 70 year old HATTIE BRANCH resigned her bus driving job after beating the crap out of a 14 year old punk who was bullying everyone on the bus since the start of the school year. "i ain't takin' that from nobody, let alone a 14 year old acting like a nigger," said the african-american branch, "and maybe now he'll show some respect to the new driver." branch, of course, was arrested when the punk complained to the school principal. i say GOOD FOR YOU HATTIE! at this point, her legal defense fund had received over $30,000 in contributions.

a 49 year old school teacher from new jersey, VIKI KNOX, will test the legal waters of free speech following her administrative suspension for an opinion she posted on facebook. knox stated that homosexuality "breeds like cancer" and should be eliminated if possible. the school immediately suspended her pending a termination hearing. the district superintendent said, "she has the right to say anything she wants but she doesn't have the right to keep her job after saying it." place your bets now.

for all of you who have had any experience with divorce thru yourself or friends: LAURA WALSH says state represenative JOE WALSH owes her $117,000 in back child support. joe says he had a 'verbal agreement' with his ex-wife to not pay child support since 2007 because his income had dropped. excuse me? walsh has a master's degree from the university of chicago and i'm pretty sure he knows that it takes a court order to change a divorce decree. as far as having no money, walsh lent his own campaign $35,000 last summer and took a girlfriend to europe on vacation. laura has custody of their three kids and states she has 'no clue' about any agreement regarding child support. pay up joe.

thirty year old CHRISTOPHER MARQUEZ was arrested in bolingbrook for theft related charges as he was caught stealing copper from a storage yard. usually a simple story. but freakin mom was also arrested as police caught ELIZABETH MARQUEZ waiting outside the fence with the trunk open and the car running. p.s.....it was 6 p.m. ......on a sunny day. the apples don't fall far from the tree.

finally, watch for BARACK OBAMA to name HILLARY CLINTON as his running mate as JOE BIDEN retires for 'health reasons'. obama's numbers are dismal in the polls and although he would have a coin flip election with republican MITT ROMNEY, putting the anti-christ on the ballot with him will seal the deal for the democrats. you heard it here first.

the cubs!

CONGRATULATIONS to the chicago cubs on their hiring of THEO EPSTEIN to run the entire show on the north side because now they will finally enter the world of major league baseball. but slow down cub fans....it's not going to happen overnight and 2012 is going to be a disaster of the highest degree with a talent level that should lose 100 or more games. the cubs only have a couple major leaguers on the roster and their minor league system is a vast wasteland that's screaming for a total overhaul.

epstein has a monumental task ahead of him, starting with hiring a new manager and coaching staff....unless he keeps quade to captain the titanic next season and then makes a hire for the top spot during the next off season. quade would be the perfect guy to hold the reins in 2012.

back in the 90's, i told packer fans that it had nothing to do with the roster, fans, good character or scheduling but the packers wouldn't win until they hired a superstar GM, which they eventually did with RON WOLF.

wolf immediately fired the head coach and brought in MIKE HOLMGREN. second move? trade for a drug addicted quarterback named BRETT FAVRE and solidify the defense by signing free agent homophob REGGIE WHITE. wolf didn't care if they were drunks, dopers, gay bashers or wife beaters because he wanted to win. period. a couple of years later, they started re-naming streets in green bay to honor those four.

eerily similiar, epstein fired red sox manager grady little and hired terry francona. then he brought in characters like david ortiz, kevin millar and curt schilling. strange human beings but very talented. result? winner, winner, chicken dinner! 2004 & 2007 world champions but the red sox had a strong talent base when epstein took over and they needed just a couple of pieces to complete the puzzle. even with the lean year ahead, i think good times are ahead for the cubs.

CONGRATULATIONS!

a little bit of everything

women are on a win streak in court rooms around the world. first, CASEY ANTHONY walks away from overwhelming evidence in florida that she killed her daughter and now AMANDA KNOX has her murder conviction overturned in italy. i learned long ago that there is no such thing as a 'slam dunk' in court and that's why you see many people accept plea bargains rather than test the system.

NANCY GRACE, she of the 'wardrobe malfunction' (flopping boob) on dancing with the stars, has looked absolutely clownish in every outfit she's worn on that show. grace apparently has an active membership in the 'all you can eat daily buffet' club and gets paid by the pound, looks oafish no matter what the dance and should be ousted soon. never thought anyone could fill p the entire screen on my 72" t.v.

speaking of unattractive and abrasive people, have any of you watched any of the news clips featuring KAREN LEWIS, the head of the teacher's union for chicago public schools? ouch. she reminds me of that special aunt who gets nasty when she has that fourth drink on christmas eve and decides to get louder than everyone else and 'clear the air' even if you don't want to take part. MAYOR RAHM EMMANUEL wants longer school days and simply put, he's going to get them. period. but this amazon keeps banging her spoon against the pan and yelling that he can't force them. wanna bet? there comes a time you realize you can't win in the long run. just be quiet karen and learn your place.

the cook county forest preserves have long allowed watchman to live rent-free in houses located in the preserves...the idea being that it would provide on-site security 24 hours a day. but then who watches the watchman? a female watchman was recently arrested for growing marijuana on forest preserve property. the district is reviewing the policy. ya think?

if you're looking for very interesting tv, catch 'PROHIBITION' by ken burns, who also did the award winning documentaries on the civil war & baseball. the series is shown in three 2-hour segments on public television and is without commercial interruption so it's perfect for your dvr. the role of women during that period is well documented by burns and he describes it in detail, both good & bad.

if you ever bought a book at the now defunct BORDERS, book store, you should be receiving ads from BARNES & NOBLE in the near future because borders quietly sold their customer list to b & n. if you want to opt out from b & n, contact www.bn.com/borders BEFORE october 29th and you get deleted from the mailing/email list.

legal issues over civil unions will be tested soon in the state courts of indiana. remember the tragic stage collapse at the indiana state fair back in august? well, the life partner of one of the victims is filing a wrongful death/negligence suit for damages. pretty standard stuff, right? but although they both lived together in chicago and were married, indiana dos not recognize civil unions and restricts law suits to surviving spouses and immediate family members. rumor has it that the wheel chair bound survivor will NOT acept a settlement unless it's clearly stated by indiana that they were living as a married couple. it's a little cloudy but i think i see the supreme court in my crystal ball.

later.
