SOMETIMES LIFE JUST SUCKS

Every once in a while, we are subjected to a crime so horrific that it defies logic or common sense.  exactly what could a five year old boy do that was so terrible that he deserved to be beaten to death?

 i have long advocated for the death penalty and the case of AJ FREUND from crystal lake, illinois, only amplifies the need for it and i have serious doubts that many people would object to a needle being placed in the arms of both parents.

FIVE YEARS OLD. BEATEN TO DEATH. BURIED IN A SHALLOW GRAVE IN THE WOODS TEN MILES FROM THE HOUSE. those bastards need to die sooner rather than later. i've seen a lot in my life but i am heart broken over this little boy.

and while we're on the subject of parents who suck...........kansas city chiefs running back TYREEK HILL apparently broke the arm of his three year old son while disciplining him. WHAT??? the investigation also discovered that hill would punch his son in the chest when he would cry to 'toughen him up' and make him stop crying.  how about some real prison time to toughen you up, mr. bad ass?

and continuing with suckage...........remember the coast guard lieutenant CHRISTOPHER HASSON who was taken into custody along with dozens of weapons and a list of democratic higher-ups and places they frequented? it turns out he'll be released from custody soon because the PATRIOT ACT only allows prosecution IF you're an islamic extremist. so i guess you can make list of peope who 'deserve to die' and stock pile guns without threat of jail.   he will, however, be charged with two federal counts of possession of silencers.  does this even sound close to being right?

the movie JAWS came out 44 years ago. it's one of five movies that i own and it is timeless.  the original ROCKY came out 42 years ago. feeling a little older after reading this?

BURN IT DOWN!

It started in Boston with 552 confirmed cases, then 400 more suspected cases in Chicago and 600 suspected cases in Philadelphia county which are all being checked out with proper protocols. measles? chicken pox? influenza outbreak? none of the above. These are the number of pedophile complaints against the catholic church ...............in just 3 cities.  it makes me cringe every time i drive by a catholic church to think about how many thousands of lives have been ruined by those barbarians.

and it's not just here, the problem is world wide.  a recent investigation and subsequent criminal trial in australia resulted in defrocked priest george pell, 77, getting sentenced to six years in prison for abusing 'hundreds' of boys (his words) and making them rinse their mouths with holy water after they performed oral sex on him followed by a period of praying. the level of depravity goes on and on. 

in the same parish, after having anal sex with young boys, (called 'horseplay' by the offending priests), the offender would immediately send the victim into the confessional (where another predator was waiting) so the victim could confess HIS sins! 

the second priest would then forgive the victim but only if they included a 'special' one-on-one session the next day with him so they could 'talk' out the issues. then after priest #2 had 'horseplay' with the victim, he would send him back to #1 for more counseling and the circle would continue. some victims testified they would have sexual contact with all members of the clergy employed in that parish. and every victim had basically the same version..........."we were told to keep it a secret or god would become very angry and do terrible things to our family. then they would use a recent tragedy as an example and when you're ten years old, that type of power leaves a lasting fear."

these people are disgusting pigs who should be executed like the animals they are. the district attorney in pennsylvania stated that the catholic church is EXACTLY like the mafia and should be tried under the federal RICO statutes so offenders would receive life sentences for partaking in a 'continuing criminal enterprise.' 

an interesting side note on a personal level: i went to school at ST. JOHN VIANNEY (eight years and i still don't know who john vianney is) and just after all three of us had graduated, they brought in a FATHER TOM KELLY (deceased) to replace one of the older priests and last month kelly was accused of the same routine by a former student at st. johns' and the victim's main statement was that he 'ruined my life.'  It just goes on and on and it's unfortunate that by the time most of the offenders are accused, they're either dead or doddering old fools with drool on their chins. 

and the church wonders why membership numbers are in crisis? hopefully this will continue and the millenials will ignore this organization like a black sabbath cult and force their doors to close forever. 

any parent, armed with all the information available about the catholic church, should be arrested for child abuse if they have their kid baptized in the catholic church. it's no different than telling your kid it's ok to smoke cigarettes. in either case, there's a real good chance that something bad will happen to them.

why does it take the victims so long to go public? because shame is a powerful emotion and as many of the victims become adults, they now have their own family and children to worry about. many have been in counseling for decades trying to get over being used in that way and coming forward takes a very brave person. some experts in the field of predatory behavior estimate as many as TWENTY MILLION victims are still in hiding.  20,000,000.

ALL SORTS OF STUFF

After two months south of the border, there's all sorts of stuff to talk about.

in the residential part of Mexico, 10 miles from my hotel, they have a severe water shortage. now in the states, sometimes they make us limit watering the grass to certain hours but in Zihuantanejo, houses get running water ONE DAY every two weeks and it's only on for two hours so you fill as many buckets as you can during that time so you can wash clothes, do the dishes, flush the toilet, etc.  
be very thankful for what we have. 

gasoline in mexico?  $4.31 per gallon. there's only one company and Penemex has the monopoly. other real expensive items are brand name gym shoes and any type of electronics. 

BUT if you know where to eat, four people can pig out for less than thirty bucks. and you can still get your laundry picked up, washed, folded and returned to your room for less than three dollars.

FYI----if you're going to an all-inclusive resort, most do not carry bourbon or canadian whiskey.  you can have all the scotch you want at every hotel but check with the hotel directly.  it's worth the phone call to find out if they carry your brand.

American Airlines finally tightened their restrictions on one of the biggest scams of the 21st century, "support" animals, which fly for free instead of the customer paying to ship the mangy animal.   but the interesting part is you're allowed to bring MINI-HORSES as a support animal. are you freaking kidding me? imagine that possible in flight mess. ridiculous.

But the biggest scam of this century is the DESTINATION WEDDING. two selfish people pick an 'exotic' location like mexico for THEIR WEDDING & HONEYMOON and then put the pressure on family members & close friends by sending them special invitations 'to please join us for our special day.'

a quick review.......normally, you spend a couple hundred dollars on a gift for a family wedding held locally and maybe one night at the hotel after partying at the reception. but their 'special day' will cost YOU as a couple NO LESS THAN TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS for 3 or 4 days.

simple solution...........if you want a destination wedding, then YOU PICK UP THE TAB FOR ALL OF THE GUESTS. i guarantee that will basically eliminate that scam.  destination this.

final note: the customs guy says it's ok to bring 25 cuban cigars for personal use back with you.

PLAY BALL!!

Just got back from Mexico and thought i'd share some thoughts on sports.

the CHICAGO BEARS have a difficult schedule but they look to be a little better than last year and hopefully, MITCH TRIBISKY is now settled in.  10-6 works for me.

despite their crappy start, i still see the CHICAGO CUBS winning 88 games but their problem is they play in a tough division so it might be the one game wild card game again and that's not good.
cub fans have to realize that this is it because the window is rapidly closing on this 'dynasty' because of two starting pitchers with a million innings in their history, an unsettled bullpen and a lame duck vastly over rated manager.  enjoy it while you can.

the WHITE SOX now begin their ascent to the top of the central division by improving 13 games this year, finishing 73-89 while all the youngsters get experience and pitcher MICHAEL KOPECH recovers from his surgery. not a great outfield but improved. the infield will settle down and will eventually be very good. as the lion laying in the weeds says, "patience, my ass. i want to kill something." this should be the attitude of white sox fans.

the BLACKHAWKS are d.o.a. but had a decent second half under their new coach. what do they need to improve??? here's a hint. defense, defense, defense. scoring 4 goals does no good if you give up 7. and their penalty kill is the worst in the league. defense, defense, defense.

the BULLS are semi-tanking it and should end up with the 4th pick in the upcoming draft. they have a decent core and could compete for the playoffs next season because it's much easier to move up in the eastern conference.

and the women's professional basketball team is...........just kidding.
but it makes me laugh every time people call it 'professional.'

finally, the NCAA men's tournament (talk about professionals!) has been outstanding and saturday night's semis look to be the real deal if you like hoops. just for yucks, i'll take TEXAS TECH.
