ODDS & ENDS

HELLO AGAIN EVERYONE! good to talk to you.  so many stories, so little space so we may do this twice this week.

MEXICO  is still the place to go if you pick the right area.  no different than chicago, where if you avoid the south side and the inherent dangers of the jungle, then you have a pretty good chance of avoiding the dangerous animals. come to IXTAPA....avoid acapulco and mexico city as well as the border towns and you should be fine.  85 & sunny every day.  75 at night.

JODY ARIAS stabs her boyfriend  27 times, slits his throat, shoots him in the head and then claims self defense? his body is full of defensive wounds.  the arizona jury delivers a swift verdict and then arias states that the jury had 'betrayed' her.  a day later, she pleads for mercy to the same jury to avoid the death penalty. i don't know what they're going to decide but if they need a volunteer for the firing squad, just call.

50 public schools in chicago are closing to consolidate attendance which is an extremely smart financial move and it really amuses me that the same snaggle toothed, drug addicted, public aid parents who have ignored their children, the neighborhood and the gang activity for decades are now OUTRAGED that the local schools are being shuttered despite having less than 50% capacity. go get another five dollar bottle of gin and shut up.

the jaw dropping pictures of tornadic destruction in oklahoma are absolutely horrific and my thoughts & prayers go out to them.

end of the world theorists simply point to oklahoma, new jersey, new orleans, japan and haiti while the global warming camps are saying "i told you so."

over the past few months, i've had the opportunity to see MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, CARRIE UNDERWOOD, BARBRA STREISAND & NEIL DIAMOND in concert and each was worth the price.  coming up? THE LT. DAN BAND at ravinia and THE EAGLES at the united center. can't wait.

hey, first fireworks show in my area will be in grayslake on saturday, june 29th in connection with 'grayslake days'.  bring a blanket and enjoy.  park at central high school and walk across the tracks. a gazillion police officers keep things safe for the entire family. arrive early and enjoy the food & music before the fireworks. a very relaxed time.

ok, that's it for now.  more in a few days.
